ADV CV // adventure curriculum vitae
If you’re a pro in any of the categories below you won’t find anything uber-impressive; if you’re a regular person a lot of it won’t make sense. I’m including it anyway because outdoor athletics is such a big part of my life. Working toward goals here keeps me healthy, motivated & creative everywhere else in my life.
Rock: I’ve climbed rock most of my life; here’s a handful of my fave ascents:
- The Nose, El Cap, CA. 5.10, C1, VII
- Regular NW Face, Half Dome, CA. 5.10, C1 VI
- Free Blast, El Cap, CA. 5.10+ AO, IV
- Blonde Ambition, Looking Glass, NC. 5.9 A3 IV
- Angular Motion, Carver Bluff, Oregon. 5.12a
Ski-mountaineering: I never saw a glacier until I hike/scrambled across Palmer to reach the top of Mt. Hood, solo with just one ski pole, in 2003.
- Mt Hood: Reid Glacier Headwall & variations; skiing off summit via old chute
- Mt Adams: Mazama Glacier & SW Chutes ski descent
- St Helens: several laps on the standard route
Bike: I fell in love with cycling immediately upon moving to Portland
- Several 100-700+ mile road bike trips on the west coast, Sierra and northern US border.
- White Rim Trail, Canyonlands, UT. 105mi Mt Bike.
Trail: The greatest adventures are off it tbh, but here’s a few things I’ve done:
- Trail races; 20mi – 50k
- Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, 3 Sisters, Three Finger Jack, Mt St Helens (Loowit) circumnavigation loops.
- Several long runs: Columbia River Gorge, Enchantments, Grand Canyon, Oregon coast, North Cascades, Wallowas, etc.
